El Olmeda is situated on a lovely private country estate, just 10 minutes drive from the lively village of Gaucin, with its many bars, restaurants and shops.  The area is renowned  for its wildlife – Ibex, griffon vultures and different types of eagles are often seen here. Guided walks, horse-riding and bird-watching trips can all be arranged.

The property is reached by a track winding down through lovely rolling countryside.  The courtyard is surrounded by old oak trees, wisteria and flowering shrubs, with a table and chair – a really lovely shady place to relax.  The large sitting room is comfortably furnished with old Moroccan rugs, and has terracotta floor tiles and high beamed ceilings, and has two sofas surrounding the open fireplace, 3 armchairs, coffee tables and a desk.  There is a satellite television with UK channels and a CD /DVD player.  Downstairs there is a pretty double bedroom decorated in blue and white, with large built-in wardrobes, and a en suite bathroom with bath and shower over, wc and basin.  The twin bedroom has two single beds, built-in wardrobes and an en suite shower room with large walk in shower, wc and basin.  There is also a cloakroom downstairs with wc and basin.  Stairs lead up to a lovely double bedroom with its own dressing room with plenty of wardrobe space, an en suite bathroom with bath, shower over, wc and basin.  This room especially enjoys fantastic views of the valley below, and on a clear day, to Africa.

The pretty yellow dining room has a handmade wooden table with chairs, doors lead out to a shady dining terrace, with table and chairs seating 10 and is surrounded by flowering jasmine and roses with spectacular views out to the coast.

The large well-equipped kitchen has handmade green tiled work-surfaces, a gas hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer.  There is a large central isle with sink, and lots of locally made ceramics and paintings by local artists.  The large utility room has a washing machine and tumble dryer.  Doors lead out from the kitchen to a covered terrace with a table and chairs, surrounded by bouganvilla and jasmine, looking out over the lawned garden and roses and herbs.  There is a self-contained double bedroom with built-in wardrobes and an en suite shower room with wc and basin.  The garden immediately around the house is lawned, then slopes away and is terraced with flowering shrubs and trees, with lovely secluded places to sit and read.

The swimming pool measures 13m x 5 m, and is furnished with sun-beds.  To one side is a covered shaded area with a table and chairs, and has views of the white villages and beautiful countryside.  The pool area is reached by steps up, and has a gate.  There is a drop on one side of the pool down to the lawn below. 

A very special property, enjoying utter peace and quiet, with just the sound of birdsong and the bells of the local goats……
