Casa Azalea sits on a mountain side in the Natural Park of Sierra Crestellina, and enjoys stunning views across the Genal Valley to the Alcornocales National Park and the Sierra de Ronda – with the white village of Gaucin within fifteen minutes drive away.

This is a fantastically located property – some of the best beaches the coast has to offer are just 15 minutes drive away, as are some 20 world class golf courses (the property owners can organize games to be booked in advance) – whilst the Sierra Crestellina mountains behind the house are known to be the largest Griffon Vulture nesting and roosting site in Southern Spain – and also buzzards, falcons, bee-eaters and Ibex are to be seen frequently from the many terraces of the property.

The house is set in 6 acres of part landscaped, part wild gardens, with lemon, mandarin, pomegranate and fig trees, and hibiscus, roses, jasmine and many herbs giving a lovely secluded feel to the place. The swimming pool (11m x 5.5m) is located below the house, with extensive tiled sunbathing areas, and has a small lawned garden and covered pergola with a table and chairs and a paella maker! There are sun beds and hammocks, and a changing room with a wc, basin and small freezer.

From the front door one enters a spacious hallway with a small cloakroom with wc, and through to the fully equipped kitchen, large living room and dining room. The kitchen has a large range cooker with two electric ovens, grill, griddle and plate warmer and five gas rings, dishwasher, microwave and large fridge/freezer. The utility room has the tumble-dryer, and washing machine. The high-ceilinged dining room has a large oak table and chairs seating up to eight, and the living room has a wood-burning stove, two comfortable sofas and armchairs, with satellite TV(British and Spanish channels), DVD and video player, as well as an integrated sound system which has speakers in all main rooms, as well as on the terrace outside. Wi-Fi broadband connection can be arranged. There are also board games, books, CD’s videos and DVD’s which clients are welcome to use. To the right is a large double bedroom with en suite shower room, wc and basin, with doors leading out to the garden. From the dining room and living room, doors lead out to a cool and shady verandah, with a table and chairs and comfortable day bed – looking out to the valley below. Doors from the kitchen lead out to a pretty terrace, planted with herbs, which has a dining table, chairs and a large gas barbeque.

Upstairs, the spacious master bedroom has an en suite shower room with wc and basin, and doors open out to a huge arched covered verandah, which has a table and a sofa, and enjoys breathtaking views. The other double bedroom has an en suite bathroom, with bath and shower over, wc and basin, and with doors leading out to a balcony. All bedrooms have large double beds, which can be converted to single beds if needed. There is also a small laundry room.

Behind the house is a self-contained cottage with its own independent access. The charming owners may sometimes be staying here when the main house is rented – clients have exclusive use of the pool and main house grounds at all times.

This is really a delightful property, set in glorious countryside, within easy reach of the white villages, horse-riding, walking, bird-watching and golf all easy to arrange. There are also some good country restaurants close by in the villages of Casares and Gaucin, also good food shops and small supermarkets.
